Client Service Director for AKQA
On behalf of AKQA Denmark, we are currently looking to hire an experienced Client Service Director with a solid hands-on digital and online marketing background, to join the studio in Aarhus, working closely with the team in Copenhagen, as well as the rest of the world. With a solid, strategic understanding, you will establish and executive client business plans that align with the goals of AKQA and become responsible for driving the quality of the agency’s work and organic business growth.

As a Client Service Director, you will develop strong senior client relationships and be committed to driving their business forward through innovative work that inspires and motivates consumers. You will also be vital in strengthening and developing AKQA and lead teams to deliver projects that achieve excellent results for the client and the agency as a whole. The Client Service Director must also develop a unique understanding of the digital arena and how new and emerging developments can be exploited to add value to clients’ businesses. You will thrive when faced with new challenges and will continuously seek to improve the way things are done for the clients.
It is expected that you contribute to the success of the agency by helping find and win new clients, hereto converting challenging client briefs to actual business plans. This, being through network, reacting on inbound opportunities, through partnerships or simply picking up the phone and reaching out themselves.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Operate as the go-to resource for the team’s concerns, points of view and recommendations. Hereto, check-in regularly with all team members on a 1:1 basis for ad hoc feedback, and schedule regular program leadership meetings to ensure constant alignment
- Partner with the Program/Delivery, Creative, UX, Strategy and Analytic leads on the account to have a cohesive and strong leadership team
- Establish and execute client business plans that align with the goals of AKQA, the goals of the overall accounts and communicates plans with the working team to give context on key decisions
- Create high-impact client presentations, while being comfortable presenting to large cross-functional groups
- Successfully grow long-term, trusted relationships with senior-level clients (Directors and below) and play a leading role in securing incremental revenue
- Prove ability to present persuasive new business opportunities in organic and/or pitch capacity
- Be responsible for driving high-quality work, ongoing client and internal communication, organic business growth, program P+L, and finally financial management and reporting
The ideal candidate has completed a relevant degree within e.g., marketing, business administration or information technology as well as minimum of 5+ years of experience from an agency, preferably within digital, strategy or business consulting. Additionally, it is required that you come with 1+ years of experience as a Client Service Director working with large companies or organizations. You must have a proven track record with creating and executing interactive, digital experiences, furthermore, be able to demonstrate you're strategic understanding of all marketing disciplines.
As Client Service Director, you are able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of digital and online marketing communications, and utilize your knowledge when identifying opportunities, that will eventually enhance your clients’ businesses, and autonomously grow relationships. You come with a strong understanding of the digital landscape and can prove strong problem-solving skills. Moreover, the ideal candidate has strong professional competencies and a well-developed strategic mindset, but most importantly, you are hands-on and possess excellent execution skills.
It is a great benefit if you have experience of managing integrated global or regional campaigns that involve multiple internal as well as external stakeholders. Additionally, you are able to effectively drive new business opportunities, from identification through to the conversion, including presenting autonomously at senior levels. You have a deep understanding of and a creative approach to communication and concept development, and you have delivered documented results for international clients in your past job positions.
As a person, you are open-minded and result-oriented. You possess strong analytical skills, are relatively data-driven and have an agile mentality. You are not afraid of taking on assignments which is not your natural responsibility. Instead, you are a team player and a natural leader. You are curious about growth opportunities and eager to take part in the digital development of AKQA as well as setting your mark in a company in steep growth. Similarly, you are ready to secure that AKQA’s high ambitions are met both in the short and long term.
