Head of eCommerce Marketing Strategy
On behalf of Maersk, we are looking for an emphatic and strategic Head of eCommerce Marketing Strategy to form, direct and accelerate international growth by leading their global eCommerce marketing strategy and collaboration across important pillars related to the digital customer experience.

This is a role contributing to the digital transformation in worldwide logistics and impacting global trade via the largest container shipping company in the world. To continue the efforts of being a world leader, Maersk is on an exciting adventure of digitalizing their entire customer journey with the purpose of attracting future audiences through a best-in-class branded eCommerce marketing experience. On this journey, you will i.e., shape eCommerce marketing projects strategically to the top level, in close collaboration with a competent digital marketing team, currently consisting of specialists covering Platforms (UX/UI), Customer Experience, Content, Media and Data.
Reporting to the Global Head of Digital Marketing, your key responsibilities will be to:
- Play an active role in developing the eCommerce Marketing strategy as well as bringing the strategy to fruition
- Facilitate a state-of-the-art digital user experience together with relevant internal stakeholders
- Identify & prioritize growth opportunities by keeping up with trends and tendencies in the realm of eCommerce Marketing
- Establish and drive benchmarks to determine the effectiveness of future eCommerce marketing operations and support decision making including defining key marketing and digital KPI’s
- Develop and deploy an eCommerce marketing playbook; ensure effective roles and responsibilities, day-to-day operations, and optimization based on a structured playbook including clear content production guidelines across all touchpoints
- Drive projects: Scoping, analysis, and development of recommendations, either independently or in close collaboration with cross-functional partners
- Stakeholder management: Substantiate efforts across various departments to support business goals
- Give input for eCommerce Marketing needs to overall business plans
To succeed in the role, you have 5+ years of experience in a top-tier management consultancy firm and/or 7+ years of experience in a business development team or an eCommerce role, specifically. As you will be heavily involved in the future of eCommerce Marketing Outlook, it is of great importance that you are a digital native and thrive in such an environment.
Maersk envisions that you hold solid commercial skills as well as a strategic and technical mindset, having acquired a substantial toolbox of eCommerce and online marketing disciplines throughout your career. You have demonstrated business judgment and decision-making skills; an ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate the highest impact initiatives. Moreover, you can balance a practical way of thought with creative business acumen and lead people through complex eCommerce marketing operations with clear priorities.
It is advantageous that you have proficient project management skills that enable you to lead projects freely and prioritize numerous tasks simultaneously. You have generalist knowledge within digital marketing, media, channels, and platforms, and are an accomplished communicator and presenter. It is also expected that you master the English language verbally and in writing.
