Performance Director for Wavemaker
On behalf of Wavemaker, we are currently looking for an experienced, passionate and proactive Performance Director with strong communication skills who will be at the forefront of the agency’s and clients’ digital growth journey. The new Performance Director will be trusted with an overarching responsibility for the performance marketing of some of Sweden’s largest advertisers.

The new Performance Director will report directly to the Chief Performance Officer.
The position
As Performance Director, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the strategizing, planning, execution, and reporting of performance marketing activities for a group of ambitious clients. With a strong understanding of the performance marketing discipline and platform solutions, you will work with a team of digital strategists, client directors, and performance specialists to develop and implement forward-thinking conversion-driven initiatives and campaigns that improve business results for your clients.
While Wavemaker’s client base is wide and covers a diverse set of business, you will be trusted with the overall responsibility for advising the agency’s clients with what digital solution will improve their performance. With the goal of creating Wavemaker’s and their clients’ best future in performance marketing, you will work with key accounts on their digital growth strategy and activation plan to drive acquisition and conversion. You will translate performance and result analyses into new strategies that optimize and secure interest and conversion, as well as deliver new business opportunities that drive future performance, evolution and growth within the digital commerce space. In this respect, you will develop and advance your experience in dealing with senior business leaders, ensuring the best ROI on their conversion-driven campaigns and acting as their main advisor for how to achieve growth on digital channels. Thus, your role as Performance Director will entail client management and ideation work.
As the Performance Director, some of your main responsibilities will include:
- Define E-commerce and performance marketing strategies, innovative digital solutions and activation plans for clients to maximize digital traffic acquisition, conversion and business growth through digital channels
- Develop, lead and drive on-going digital projects focused on performance marketing and ensure a positive and professional relationship with Wavemaker’s clients and internal GroupM stakeholders
- Proactively advise clients on how to optimize their performance marketing and provide guidance on untapped opportunities to help them meet their challenges and succeed in the digital commerce arena
- Collaborate with specialists to turn strategies and recommendations into action and practice.
- Act as a subject matter expert and help both internal and external stakeholders to excel in performance marketing
Your profile
The ideal candidate has a strong background in performance marketing and a deep understanding of the e-commerce ecosystem and customer journey. While in-depth technical expertise is not a requirement, it is necessary to have knowledge of relevant platforms and martech tools related to the digital purchase journey and you valorize and understand the technical aspects and opportunities within the area and its related systems. The candidate should have strong skills in project management and proven experience of working with specialists to turn strategy and recommendations into action and practice. You know how to get ideas executed and ensure that new initiatives are translated into actionable outcomes. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in performance marketing and preferably comes from an agency background. We are seeking a candidate who is a highly motivated, self-going and resilient. You are curious and have a strong ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple and clear manner both in oral and written. You truly care about fostering a good work enivorinment and with strong collaboration skills, the ability to work with both clients and specialists, and a passion for being an expert and sharing knowledge with peers, this individual will play a key role in driving success for Wavemakers’ clients and organization.
