Product Marketing Manager for Cobham SATCOM

On behalf of Cobham SATCOM, we are looking for a creative thinker to fill in the position as Product Marketing Manager, who will be responsible for developing effective product marketing strategies with the rest of the Marketing team.

About Cobham SATCOM
Cobham SATCOM is a leading global technology and services innovator, respected for providing solutions to the most challenging problems – from deep space to the depths of the ocean. Their satellite communications products are used in maritime, land and ground communication, and they design and manufacture these high-performance products under the brands TRACKER, EXPLORER, SAILOR and Sea Tel providing customers with outstanding performance, value and support through their global sales and service network.

The company headquarters are in Lyngby, Denmark and has a large development and manufacturing site in Concord, CA (USA). They work with the biggest players in the industry, and the technologies they work with affect lives across the world.

In January 2020, Advent International, one of the largest and most experienced global private equity investors, acquired all of Cobham plc and has subsequently separated Cobham SATCOM as an independent business. Cobham SATCOM works with customers and partners across the globe and is at this moment experiencing vast growth with many new opportunities in the pipeline.

The position

As Product Marketing Manager at Cobham SATCOM, you work as part of the Marketing team responsible for developing effective product marketing that drive the product brands and support sales.

You work across their business verticals (Land, Maritime and Managed Services) on commercial aspects of going to market and tapping into content around customer needs, industry trends and other relevant topics.

In close collaboration with product managers, you drive the value proposition development process (product level), and you help present the features and benefits of their strong products and services. You enable strong messaging and product perspectives in our customer facing efforts and ensure a mix of traditional and digital media strategies, sales onboarding, and various communication/media strategies to target end-users and dealers.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Strengthen clarity around segmentation per products category (across partners & end customers)
  • Own and maintain the portfolio of product marketing assets and help maintain general product comparison templates and overview vs. competitors
  • Shape and articulate our product differentiation vs. competition (collaboration with Product Management) and translate product specs into (unique) selling points
  • Develop, define and communicate value proposition (at product level)
  • Develop product content for our digital channels and coordinate “technical writing” tasks related to product content
  • Identify and drive creation of case stories with customers
  • Maintain high level timeline and overview of product introductions
  • Secure relevant product information updates to our network of Partners and support development of product training materials & sessions

Joining Cobham SATCOM, you will work out of their headquarters and report directly to the VP Marketing & Public Relations. You will be part of an independent company with around 500 employees across the world, along with partners in over 100 countries.

Your profile

You are an innovative person with tech savvy and a data-oriented mindset. You have a strong interpersonal drive – and you hold the right entrepreneurial and commercial mindset to enter a global company setting pioneering goals and subsequently driving a new marketing direction.

Ideally, you hold a bachelor’s degree, as a minimum, with either a technical or a marketing background and come with a minimum of 4-5 years of experience working as a product marketing manager in a B2B context. You have experience in launching B2B products globally through partner channels and are an expert in creation product marketing assets for content marketing. Moreover, you are a team player who thrive working cross-functionally and collaborate with marketing manager to enable strong messaging and product perspectives in our customer facing efforts.

You come with high attention to details and a can-do attitude, along with an inspiring and motivating approach that affects every person you meet. Furthermore, you are a strong communicator with outstanding writing skills and have the perseverance and ability to simultaneously manage many tasks. You are detail oriented, collaborative, empathic and are able to work with a broad group of stakeholders across departments, levels and time zones. Finally, you are ready to roll up your sleeves to ensure effective product marketing strategies within a leading company that is harnessing the power of satellite communications to overcome worldwide challenges and develop new opportunities for success.
