Product Owner and UX Specialist for ECCO

On behalf of ECCO Europe, we are looking for a dedicated consumer-centric Product Owner & UX Specialist who will be a key part of transforming ECCO’s European E-Commerce. In this role, you will become an important player in shaping the future of ECCO Europe’s future user experience. The position is placed at ECCO Europe’s headquarter in Zug, Switzerland.

The position

As Product Owner & UX Specialist, your main responsibility is to ensure the efficient development of the e-commerce platform (Sitecore) in relation to the ERP system (DAX) and eventually other 3rd party software products (AltaPay, Google, etc.). As the interface between business owners of the various parts of the E-Commerce department (Content, Merchandising, Marketing) and the IT development, both internal and external, you will act as a gatekeeper in order to drive usability and increase user experience onsite and across channels.

The position is consolidating all efforts regarding the E-Commerce and Marketing developments, including Customer Care and CRM. The Product Owner & UX Specialist defines the roadmap for frontend and backend developments within an Agile Development Framework together with the stakeholders and the Director of E-Commerce. This role is responsible for the Backlog Management in terms of creation, facilitation, management, prioritization and decision making of the relevant epics and user stories, driving the Agile Development process together with the internal IT team and external service providers, reviewing and planning meetings in order to safeguard resources and timelines of the according software development.

Additionally, you will be coordinating any external software development in relation to UX, providing as an outcome the ultimate ECCO user experience across key touchpoints and devices (desktop, mobile, newsletter, CRM, App). Hereto, you will, together with the IT department, define any minor or major software updates as well as the overall system infrastructure roadmap.

Your areas of responsibility include:

  • Consolidating all requests regarding E-Commerce & Omni-Channel software development (Backlog Grooming, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews)
  • Function as gatekeeper to develop ROI and UX-driven developments
  • Manage the E-Commerce software development CAPEX budget
  • Ensuring Quality Assurance and A/B-Testing
  • Handling software maintenance and upgrade management
  • Experienced in working with Sitecore Experience Platform and preferable have knowledge in working with Microsoft Dynamics (DAX)


Your profile

The ideal candidate preferably holds a degree (but not required) within Project Management, Agile (SCRUM), Full Stack Development, IT and Infrastructure Management, Business development or a related field with a B2C focus. You have been in a similar position for min. 2 years in a large B2C company with a wide experience from a multi-market set up. It is expected that you have a tactical understanding and is familiar in working with multiple touch points and has been responsible for planning and managing agile development processes with an ROI approach.

Being a team player and a good motivator is a must together with strong communication skills and the ability to get your message clearly across. Therefore, your personality should be positive and open-minded with a “can-do” attitude where you possess empathic capabilities and have a healthy view and understanding of other people’s points of view. Lastly, you possess a high English level both orally and in writing.
