On behalf of KIRKBI A/S we are currently looking for an ambitious and purpose-driven Senior Communications Manager for their small and talented Communication team. You will play a key role in supporting and driving KIRKBI’s external positioning towards their stakeholders, based on their core narrative and business strategy.

In KIRKBI communications, they deliver high quality communications support to the KIRKBI Group, the Kirk Kristiansen family, LEGO Brand Group, Ole Kirk’s Fond and many more. They work closely together with the different LEGO entities such as the LEGO Group and the LEGO Foundation.

The continued development of the communication area plays an important role for KIRKBI. They aim to meet the broad need for communications support within the KIRKBI Group and associated business areas.


The position
As the new Senior Communications Manager, you will support the Head of Communication in day-to-day tasks and develop new, long-term business partner relationships with KIRKBI’s many stakeholders. You will join a small communication team, where all members contribute to the ongoing development of their work, in an organization with highly skilled, specialized colleagues, a broad business portfolio as well as a strong legacy with a well-established set of values such as quality, caring and learning, which guides their work.

Additionally, you will provide communication support and advisory to key internal stakeholders such as Finance and Investment teams. You will develop and execute on media strategies and internal communication across a broad portfolio of businesses and tasks.

 

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Support and drive the external positioning of KIRKBI towards key stakeholders (internal stakeholder mgmt., communications planning, development of key messages, activities etc.)
  • Support and drive development of KIRKBI corporate communication publications (e.g., Annual Report)
  • Plan and execute on external and internal communication in connection with KIRKBI investments and core values, hereunder sustainability as a foundational layer for all business activities
  • Responsibility for media relations and primary contact for press enquiries. This includes acting as advisor on media relations to a portfolio of businesses within the KIRKBI Group
  • Act as communication partner and advisor to selected teams in the KIRKBI Group, lifting the communication support function towards a proactive, strategic function (Investments and Finance in particular)

KIRKBI is headquartered in Billund and additionally has offices in Copenhagen and Baar, Switzerland. Your base can be either Billund or Copenhagen. If you choose to work from the Copenhagen office, you should expect to work 1-2 days a week in Billund.

 

Your profile
Ideally, you hold a master’s degree in communication or similar and have at least 7-10 years of experience working with communication from a global company. To succeed in the role, you must have experience with media management and financial communication. Ideally, you have a mixed agency/corporate background. You speak and write English and Danish fluently.

Your personality and stakeholder management approach is key in this position as you will work across many different business areas and entities in a global as well as local context at both a strategic, tactical, and operational level. You are motivated by a value-driven organization, and bring a high level of curiosity, attention to quality and detail, and trust into the organization.

In collaboration with your team, you will proactively contribute with profound, communicative craftmanship, proving your ability to operationalize strategic concepts, into specific communication activities. A high degree of professionalism, innovative thinking, empathy, and integrity is thus essential, as is an outgoing personality. Furthermore, you are able to handle complexity and know how to get things done in a complex setting – in other words, you enjoy executing just as much as planning.

To succeed in this position, you are eager to learn and able to read people, situations, and the business at hand. You also enjoy collaborating across a broad stakeholder landscape and working with a diverse field of tasks and subject areas. With your structured approach, you can take on several tasks and projects simultaneously and apply the same high-quality standards to both large and smaller assignments.
