On behalf of Bang & Olufsen, we are looking for a driven and tech savvy Director of Strategic Alliances, who will become responsible for developing and maintaining strong and long-lasting partnerships with global ecosystems and content providers.

The brand was founded in 1925 by the two engineers Peter Bang & Svend Olufsen based in Struer, with a strong focus on sound of the highest quality. Thereto, Bang & Olufsen strives for developing and strengthening their portfolio with new opportunities and solutions through products that provide freedom of choice for the customers and allow them to use their ecosystem of choice. Hence, they are now looking for a Director of Strategic Alliances to establish and activate strong partnerships and collaborations with some of the leading tech-companies within the market.


The position
As Director of Strategic Alliances, you will be responsible for identifying unique differentiating functions through interaction and partnerships with strategic partners that represent global ecosystems and content providers such as Amazon, Apple, Google, and Tencent, Spotify, Deezer, and TuneIn. With a holistic approach, you will enter a business enabling role, playing an essential part in developing strong internal and external collaborations with key stakeholders to explore unique Bang & Olufsen functionalities and features that can be implemented on top of each specific ecosystems. Thereto, you will be the front runner in further differentiation and engage with the strategic partners in order to get the needed features and handlers, as well as relevant experiences for customer experience strategy, and subsequently align on how to bring them to market and get them to be part of the official offering. You will be in charge of evangelizing towards global ecosystems and partners with a holistic company direction and roadmap, with the relevant products and projects such as speakers, soundbars, headphones, earphones, etc. You will use data to evaluate performance of products for different ecosystem features, perform competitive benchmarking and ensure that all working documents and assets follow the ecosystem approval processes and contractual agreements.

Moreover, you will be in charge of interaction with internal product projects, working with all product PM’s for a holistic overview of feature per product view, ensuring that the market priorities, such as country roll outs, can be handled in the best possible way holistically (e.g. SKUs vs SW variants). Thereto, you will populate backlog of features and requests for all products and projects through different platforms and touchpoints with related business value. With an overall goal to ensure that Bang & Olufsen has a holistic view of the ecosystems landscape (outside-in), and that the product portfolio has a holistic and coherent offering with those ecosystems towards customers (inside-out), you will ensure time execution and drive project management, following both the company’s processes and the ones imposed by each partnership.

With drive and engagement, and a technical and strategic approach, you will furthermore be responsible for educating the marketing team on holistic future direction and on cross portfolio and ecosystem use cases, always with regards to all ecosystems, ensuring that each product rollout builds on the aligned strategic direction. Thereto, you understand that the best results often arise from strong teamwork as well as from an updated mind and snapshot of all the ecosystem discussions and strategic milestones, which you will refer directly towards the Digital Board & Management.

As Director of Strategic Alliances, you will work from Bang & Olufsen’s Danish HQ and enter a leading and essential role within the company, managing and developing strong partnerships and alliances to further strengthen Bang & Olufsen’s development and ensure positive growth for both the company, key stakeholders and customers.


Your profile
The ideal candidate holds a degree within business or technology and comes with minimum 6-7 years of experience from a Saas startup or a similar position, preferably from an agency, consultancy or a large B2C/B2B company. You have strong business acumen and hold a profound knowledge and experience in working with acknowledged, global brands and companies. Thereto, you have a natural interest in brands as well as in both sustainable and innovative ecosystems. With a data driven mindset, you are tech savvy and business minded, hence understand business politics, and thrive working in a holistic way. You hold excellent interpersonal skills and find it natural to manage multiple stakeholders, and even though you have your hands full of several projects at one time, you keep your mind focused and are able to score a home run on all points. On your journey towards the goal, you include every part of your team, making sure that everyone knows what to do and reaches defined tasks and goals. Thereto, you know what it takes to educate and train a team holistically on cross portfolio and ecosystem use cases, rather than just individual products.

As a person, you come with a positive “can-do” attitude as well as an open and including mindset. This originates from your high level of energy and provides you with a strong drive to always perform your very best and achieve goals and successful results. You enjoy working on an independent level, yet in close collaboration with colleagues, teams and stakeholders and hold strong collaboration and coordination skills. You are accountable, always delivering on commitments, and with a high sense of order and structure, you like to plan and organize your work. Lastly, you are passionate about innovation and development and possess the right personal and professional flair, stand and seniority to drive and develop strong partnerships with some of the industry’s leading tech companies.
