Bang & Olufsen are currently looking for several experienced Linux/C++ Embedded Developer who will be part of a team responsible for building the Bang & Olufsen audio streaming platform.

The position
As Linux/C++ Embedded Developer at Bang & Olufsen, your key job will be to participate in building audio streaming platform to create and enhance the experience of their high-end audio video products.

Right now, they are laying the foundation for building an impactful audio streaming platform, utilizing the latest generation powerful 64-bit quad-core processors and wireless technologies from the leading chip manufacturers. To do so, they need a talented developer to help design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve their platform features.

Joining the Bang & Olufsen-team, you will have an opportunity to influence and take responsibility for the platform and the technologies as well as influencing the architecture, tooling and way-of-working on the latest quad-core ARM-based platforms for high-end speakers. Thus, you will help evolve their methods and create the most innovative, adaptable and productive development environment possible. To do so, you will collaborate with the team using C and C++ as well as tools like Slack, Jira, GitHub, CMake, Docker and Jenkins.

At Bang & Olufsen they have an end to end continuous integration and deployment pipeline and you will be able to work on all layers in the platform – from Yocto recipes and low-level drivers to high-level application code.

The position is based at Bang & Olufsen’s office in Lyngby, North of Copenhagen, where you will be part of an innovative and informal startup culture firmly grounded in 90 years of heritage and values like honesty, keep-it-simple and quality-is-better-than-quantity. Here, you join their audio platform team and collaborate closely with their app and cloud team on developing end-to-end features of the highest quality.  

We are looking for people to join our team in both Lyngby and/or Struer.


Your profile
An ideal candidate holds a degree within computer science and has 3+ years of software development experience as well as familiarity with at least C++ v11 development. In addition, you know C and C++ development as well as how to use Linux for embedded systems and you have hands-on experience with common design patterns and multithreaded programming. It is considered a big plus if you are familiar with technologies like Yocto, ALSA, systemd, D-bus, GStreamer, Docker and Python. Similarly, any experience using continuous integration and automatic testing as well as knowledge of software architectural principles would be an advantage.

As a person you are a self-driven and organized, you are able to work under high pressure, and has very good technical and analytical skills. You have a creative and innovative approach and you are eager to challenge normal software development practices. In addition, you are open for and ready to learn new tools and methods. You are fully proficient both oral and written English. Lastly, you are passionate about your job and ready for your next career move to Bang & Olufsen where you in collaboration with the rest of the team will help create best-in-class products and unique sound experiences for their customers.
